Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964) is an American actress choreographer, dancer and activist. Her breakout moment came with Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), then followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated to win the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fearless (1993). Perez's leading roles in films include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) as well as Birds of Prey (2018). Perez also earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990, 1994 and), and another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her role as The Flight Attendant. She has been in stage productions on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted on the ABC talk show The View during the series' 18th season. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. [11] Her mother lived in poverty in Woodside Houses by 1999. She passed away from complications of AIDS in the year 1999.
