Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for more than 20 years. She's also a seasoned public speech writer. She created Feminist Frequency, a site that features videos and comments discussing the depictions of females in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, critic of the media and a prestigious feminist for more than 10 years. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that examines female representations in narratives from popular culture. As well as working to bring awareness to the targeted and sexist attacks on women, other minorities in online spaces she is committed to breaking the stereotypes prevalent in popular culture. Sarkeesian has a degree in the fields of social thought and political science from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaker. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. When she was a student at the university, Sarkeesian became concerned about issues related to gender identity and women's rights from a young age. The ambitious lady planned to start a web-based series that would examine the gender roles in video games and found herself the target of a harassment online campaign. Her determination was not slowed from the attack, and the fact is that it only bolstered her determination to be a media critic and feminist. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards for her contribution to the cause of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. The non-profit investigates women's representation in contemporary pop culture.
