Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unique of pop stars. She was an artist who was able to effectively bridge the gap between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift shed her country roots as if they were just a second skin, revealing she was arguably the smartest populist singer/songwriter of her generation someone who was able to harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform opposite. Swift's talents are evident in some of the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on her sophomore album Fearless that came out in 2008, she discovered the person she was and reach audiences across the globe. The album ended up with a lot of legs not only in the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success in the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift managed to build upon her success with Speak Now almost two year after. Her popularity only increased through her subsequent three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 which saw her move into the realm of pop that she had already been a part of. Even though she had slowed the production of her folklore album, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was nevertheless leading the way in pop music.
