Fawn Mckay

Fawn McCay, was born at Ogden Utah September 15, 1915. Born into the Mormon Church's very first family, Fawn McKay devoted her brilliant literary talents and remarkable researching skills in the creation of an outstanding psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title No Man knows My History. This title is taken from the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith who was the founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know my feelings." No man knows my history. Truth is, I don't know. Fawn an older woman, aged 29 said: "Since that moment of candor, at least three writers have risen to the challenge." Many have abused him some have deified him; some have even experimented with clinical diagnosis it is not the fact that these documents lack information, it is rather that they are fiercely contradictory. It is a daunting task to put together these papers--of sorting first-hand information from third-hand plagiarism of fitting Mormon and non-Mormon accounts to create a picture that is plausible the history. It is both fascinating and educational. It's a task which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. The fruits of her research as well as her writing earned her world-wide fame: Thaddeus Stevens. The DevilDrives. Thomas Jefferson. The Intimate Histories (1974), and Richard Nixon.
