Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football and volunteering for the community. The first family is his youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two, football. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. In 1973, Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi award as the best lineman in the country. For the three seasons that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon graduated with a diploma from the University of California, Berkeley. Fourth-year service in the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours per week to volunteer projects. After graduation, he landed in Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started his business career. In 1988, while working as an account relations officer at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the 10 most notable young people in America. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He captained his college team in the year 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor who presented this award.
